Sure the bills that weren't getting paid before are now getting paid, still want more. Not greed or that I am ungrateful, don't get me wrong. It has to do with more being up to par. I set standards for myself when I was a young dude going to college with hopes of being an independent successful adult. Assessing my 27th year of life there is more that I need to handle; health insurance, doctor checkups, getting out of debt.

So here I am on the weekend of the pivot-able game (19ers vs Giants) trying not to get too distracted and focus on a little resume building. More of science laboratory person, I am building for a web managing job. Yeah, I believe I can do anything in the world but here am I trying to prove to someone else to give yet another opportunity to learn and prevail. Selling myself is myself, but if I can't sell myself then I guess I can't really sell anything. Putting my experiences and talents on paper is hard and looking at its entirety, well, damn am I really as qualified to anything? or am I just unable to present my qualities in a sell-able manner? We will see by day's end if really put this day to production or just stuck with thoughts.

Back to the Basics

It's been a long well since I placed my thoughts on "paper". I mean, I'm not dumb, not that lazy, but why do I make things harder for me than they really should be? I think I am frightened to walk through that open door after I'd done everything to turn that knob. The transition period is tough but I think I will make it through. Let's be less insecure. As much as I would like to "change" the world, I will have to change the little things about myself. My professor quoted from someone that "opportunity favors the prepared mind." In that aspect, I'm doing everything I can to be prepared when that door opens and passes me through. Getting fit? Well, no real progess to be proud of. Studying for the GRE also hasn't been achieved. Yesterday I was hit with a eye-opener though. Due the state budget and great things that Arnold has done, I was notified that all state student assistants will be laid off. With only a weekend's notice, I have only one day of work left and already started to seek out new jobs. I take it as a sign since I've been wanting to look for a job that will give me more lab experience. Before all that happens I will need to work out and consume plenty of fluids to clear my body of the THC contents that I so stupidly decided to ingest a few weeks back. Awesome. Well at least now I will have more time to study for the GRE, get a new job, and work out more....my summer plans that I already planned in 1/3 of the time. Times are tough, but they could be worse. I think I battle myself more than the problems at hand. I'm a wuss.

Waking up in the morning is the hardest thing to do. He's partner was purchased from an asian fish store here in Sac. Nor-cal vs. So-cal feuds every night between these two. They're cool tho.

My first fixed gear build and gas saver. After installing 2 inner tubes having them all pop, I finally got it working by using the rim tape properly. I rode it to work today, a 6 mile ride, and all works out well. I need to take it to Mike's Bikes to get it tuned real quick and that should be it. The traffic this morning was good, but we'll see later this afternoon when it's hot and rush hour. I'll post some photos of it later. I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm not a great auto mechanic, but bike mech is something I can see myself doing.

yup 41 minutes into my 8 hour day. good bye.

So the Celtics won. But I'm all for great games and this long time rivalry is sure hyping up the Finals, a good thing.

With the Finals in the air, I couldn't help resist to get out on the court myself. My ankles have not fully recovered but I still strapped up my Penny's and hooped a little yesterday. And needless to say I haven't lost it, scoring 5 points in a 11-pt full court game. My brother, girlfriend, 2 of my good friends and I completed the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon. A 26.2 mile run that I could never imagine myself doing. During the run I got a chance to reflect on a things in my life; family, friends, music. One of the greatest thing I that I saw on the run was a guy holding a sign that said, "Thank you, from a leukemia survivor." Pledging myself to such an event brings hope for others. As long as I am willing and able I will be running. Thanks to everyone!

Sorry P. Diddy. You did your thang. What turns out to be a long 16-week semester of hard diligent study results in a mere 2.6 gpa. Better than the past yes, but was less than expected. I guess hard work & effort don't relate to results desired. Nowadays, i find it harder and harder to stand out of the crowd. I miss the days when praise came from coloring in the lines. Boo boo, life is getting tough.

This weekend will be the big event. The SD marathon is gonna be no joke. I'm not prepared and worried. I pray that my mental state will carry me across the finishing line b/c i will be physically suffering. If i finish in the allotted time I'd be satisfied, considering P. Diddy didn't. I'll accomplish something a millionaire didn't. Maybe this will be turning point for a new outlook on life. If i don't make i out, know that i love you all. For the past two days I’ve substituted oatmeal for breakfast and lunch, with a fruit or some nuts in between. It’s not as bad as you would think. Plus I save money for lunch instead of wasting it on pricey sandwiches sold at the cafeteria. I will see how I hold up when school begins on Monday.

Yesterday I brought my duffel bag w/ gym clothes to work in hopes to go to the gym. And I did! But sadly, I only got in the door to turn right around when I saw the long line to check in and all the equipment occupied. Damnit! I decided to head home to go jogging. When I left the parking structure I still had to pay $1.25 for parking. $1.25 for not working out, great. On my way home I hit traffic and at this point working out is the last thing on my mind. As I pulled into my parking spot at home it starts pouring rain. Fuck jogging tonight. Instead the nights exercise only consisted of stretching and crunches while watching “The Astronaut’s Wife.”

Note to self: Go to the gym fatboy.

as of late I've been pretty relaxed. school doesn't start for another 2 weeks but so much has been on my mind. Contrary to what the title says. kind of like the calm before the storm. ahead of me i have a pretty tough semester ahead of me. I have classes that i shouldn't take concurrently but I have to b/c the 2 classes are only offered in the spring and being that I want to graduate in the fall I have to do this. this means that i have to read ahead on some portions and know the basics of the precursor. also, there's the GRE i have to prep for. rent is gonna be a drag working the hours that i am in the upcoming season. with all the studying and working, i have to stay on my game of jogging as i am trying to run 5 half-marathons and one full this year. I just finished my first half of the year actually in AZ last week. Thanks to my sponsor, Ray for the big 5 gift card that purchased me some sweat wicking socks and a Dyna-flex. As thanks to my brothers that got me my plane ticket and housing. it was fun. i finished 13.2 miles in 3:06. not as great as my SF run but i wasn't as sore and recovery time was much quicker afterwards.

As gay and retard some say that Rockband and GuitarHero are, that shit is undoubtedly fun. playing the drums is sweet.

anyways, happy friday!

I hate school

First off happy Friday. I just completed my 3rd exam for Biochemistry and that shit was hard! That class has been a mystery to me since the beginning. I got back my 3rd exam for microbio and umm....it's motivation for doing good on the final that's all I gotta say. I'm pretty bummed but I still managed to go for a jog in these..

a pretty good shoe for the flat-footers out there. Now I have to go to my internship at the hospital and stand around for 4 hours. After that I'm going to look at my microbio exam again and hit the books hard! fuck. Anyways, congrats Zac and Chris for graduating this semester. Same time next year I hope to be in your shoes. Peace to the world.

Day One

So here we go...The first official post of biggest loser series. I decided to start day after recovering from what I think was the stomach flu. The pain was really in my intestine(near my belly button), but for the most part, it's over. While i was sick all i could think about was that if i weren't sick i would totally be joggin; you know the typical takin shit for granted feeling. being that my digestion system was not up to par i decided to take in only some porridge and soy sauce+shredded pork. I went for a weak'ass jog, but a jog nonetheless. I discovered that I lost my good runners stride i used to have, so i officially job like a fat boy. for dinner i had about half of my L&L meal. That's all for now. peace.

Fatboy

Finally I’m back to it. It’s pretty been much a whole semester since I last posted, so it’s needless to say how my semester has been. I finally got a minute to get some air and review what’s going on. There’s only 2 more weeks of instruction left in the fall semester and I’ve been doing pretty good. I’m actually proud of how much work I put in this time around. However, with all the studying and sessions of Halo, I’ve gotten huge! I embarrassingly admit that I’m at my heaviest and unhealthiest at 200-motherfuckin’-lbs! No joke. It’s sad. I get winded climbing steps and my knees hurt. If you haven’t noticed I changed the title to The Biggest Loser, implying that I feel like a loser, I’m the biggest I have ever been, and that I intend to lose the most weight of my life and get back to my high school weight of 155lbs. I got inspired from the show itself. I need to work harder in all aspects, not just school. It’s pathetic to know that I have a 24 membership rotting away, telling me that I’m a fat-ass that can even achieve something placed in front of me. Soooo…I’ve decided to dedicate this blog to weekly, if not daily progress on my road to being the bigger loser. Besides I have a 13 mile run in January in AZ and I do not want to get owned. I hope all goes well. Feel free to drop some words of advice. Good luck to me.

Summer's almost here!

After two months of hot weather my "summer" is about to begin. On Sunday I completed 13.1 miles in 2:47 something at the RUNSFM marathon in SF. I thought it was gonna be the hardest thing ever and it was. For not training as much as I would've like to, I did great. It was not until the 11th mile when my body weight of 180 lbs. killed my ankles. Afterwards, it felt like I sprained both of my ankles. I wouldn't have been able to do it had it not been for my GF, Esther who pretty much served as a crutch for the final mile. I am proud to say that I did cross the finishing line on my own accord and was still jogging. I'm also grateful and proud that I got to run it with my friend JN and brother Mo, who is leaving to Taiwan this Thursday for work. I won't see him for a month or maybe more but this weekend was a great bonding experience with him. For sure I will run another half marathon. The rewarding feeling is too great to let pass. Next time around I'm undergoing some training tho.

Other news....the Common album came out today. I didn't get a chance to swing by target to pick it up for 9.88 so I'll download it tonight for some listening but I'm purchasing it for sure this week. I have to support it, I can't always download shit or else I'm not really showing support by just listening it. Someone has to get paid for their hard work.

Oh yea I was strolling the internet and came across some Sir Charles. I think they might be my next pair of shoes. Some MJ heads are too caught up on MJs, imma have to hit'em in the face with this one...

Back on the Scene with a Gangster Lean

Hello again folks. If you have forgotten about me I wouldn’t blame you. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprise if I have forgotten about myself. As of late I’ve been “laying low” and keeping out of the public eye, rather from my friends and such. School and work has got me on a path of routine and service, rarely pausing to “enjoy the scenery” or “to smell the roses.” Summer is half way over and I have little to my memory to say, “Dam! That was summer 2007!” Beneficially, bills are being paid and education is obtained. Consequently, a soul is missing or at least, placed on hold. I guess this is what they call being dedicated or goal oriented.

Adding to my list of accomplishments and charity will be a half marathon (13 miles) for leukemia this weekend. Although I’m not well prepared for this and I know there’s no such thing as cramming for a run like this, I am whole-heartedly dedicated to finish the run. I realize that the more you run, the better you run. In essence, preparation is key and practice makes perfect. That being said, all the sacrifices and work I put in now will only help me in the future, as a person and the tasks I tackle in the future.

As a soundtrack to my life currently, I found some good music when I thought music has failed. Songs such as “Classic” by Krs, Kanye, Nas, and Rakim, and “Nobody do it better” by Keith Murray keeps me on my toes. Nothing spectacular but they are some tunes that states the past, far and near, was the shit. Memories stay alive. Not living in the past, but remembering the past gets me by everyday. So before when I said I won’t really remember summer 2007, I will most definitely will remember summer 2007.I’ve been told that I remember the oddest events and I must say, that’s how I get by and be me.

I'll be sure to update more often, if not for readers, at least for myself because I can’t remember everything in my daily life.

Be Good, Be Proper.

Its another case of the “Mondaze”

Another Monday and as cliché as it may sound, it fucking sucks. Not only its my 2nd week working full-time, it’s the first day of summer school. From here on out it is gonna be something like this: 9am-4pm work, 6-8pm Japanese class, 10pm-whenever gym time, M-Th every week. What a summer. But hey let’s not start a Monday like other Mondays with bitching and whining. Instead, let’s look at the better things in life right about now.

The old landlords this past weekend came over to do a final inspection on the house. It turns out that we are not going to be stuck with a $4800 bill anymore, at most we’ll lose our deposit. Good for me, b/c that is $300 dollars I forgot about and discredited from my budgets long ago. Other than the typical GF fights this weekend, I did shit this weekend. Funds are at a all time low so I just kept myself business with the new DirectTV setup with DVR! And my cherry-still-intact-360-Elite.

Oooh…I know I said I was not going say it but dam it’s Monday and my supervisor is not here today. Cigarettes are no longer a part of my habitual life. I’m about 2 days sober and withdrawal is kicking it pretty dam good. Last night I went to PT with some of my kids. It consisted of 20 laps around the bball court, 3 suicides, lay up drills, jumpshot drills, 3-man weaves, and some one on one. Prior to PT I lifted some weights targeting my chest, tri’s, and back. I’m totally drained and sore, but haven’t felt this healthy in a long time. Weighed myself as well at a disappointing 183 pounds, which is pretty bad for my 5’5” stature. I figure more to work for me and I’m pretty motivated at this point so I’m not too worried.

On another note, Spring Break starts today! Considering that I don’t have Friday classes. All I have is work this break, so all I really need to do is wake up and sit around for a couple hours each day. I have a few goals for the week to come.
work out everyday, and weigh in at 177 by week’s end
catch up on O-chem and all my other classes
sand and primer my car/fix my rear panel
pack and trash things and be prepared to move out
look for a job that pertains to my major
work on Enosiware.com stuff
get shit faced once
have a BBQ
Of course these are some of the goals I have planned. I don’t think I’ll finish the whole complete list but I’ll try. Besides it’s spring break, it has a to be a little fun at least.

St. Pat's EVE!

It’s Friday once again!! And it's St patties' eve so i decided to be festive with the Leprechaun Green. As of now, there's one more academic week before Spring break! Nothing planned yet. Most likely I’ll be collecting hours working for the “Man.” Need that extra cash flow since the month’s midway already. What’s more importance is the subject at hand, St. Patty’s day. Half the world, Irish or not, will be infested with clovers and green things, not to mention piss drunk off the green brew. I for one will guarantee that my ass will be happily not sober when the festivities begin tonight. No plans, but as long as I don’t drink alone everything will be all gravy.

20 minutes left before heading home. At home imma handle some biz and study til 8 or 9 and happy time! What’s in store? Probably blow the shit up with a few irish car bombs. Oh yea did I mention that I killed my exam from last week with a score of 88.8 out of 100? The more reason to drink drink and drunk drunk.

Be Safe to all…No drinking and driving! Or just becareful. I woke up at 6:30 and pretty much did everything correctly for my 7:30 chem lab. Usually I’d be hustlin’ and bustlin’ screwing shit up but today everything worked out fine. The crucibles I had to weigh out, weighed out to be .0001 g within one another so I was pretty stoked. Immediately after that I had my first chem31 mid term. I prepped for this to the best of my ability but it turned out to be harder than expected. It’s cool though, many of the other students walked out of the class pretty pissed about how they did so I’m assuming my score will be among the average if not above. So far so good. I headed home threw on my Biggie Tee and marched to the light rail to head work. Tonight I’m looking forward to getting hammered on some Henny that I got from my lil sis for my bday this past Monday. Nothing but clear skies til the weekend hits when I’ll be hitting the books once again for the upcoming week. But what I’m really looking forward to tomorrow is doing my Friday routine which consists of me coming into work around 9am, getting some starbucks (grande soy mocha), grabbing the SacBee paper, first read the Fry’s ad, and then reading about the news for about 2 hours. After work, some of the fraternity bros are heading out to Fishes ‘n Loaves to cook dinner for the homeless elders. Karma should come full circle and I should be able to bowl a 200 when we go out bowling later that night. I’m sure we’ll be hammered again and “BOwLIN’!” will be the word/phrase of the night…good thing I’ll be drunk enough not to be annoyed. tHE WeEkEnd WaRMuP! has begun! Happy Friday to All!

Shit's Not the Same, Things Done Changed

As sit at work listening to “Golden Era” hits (hiphop cuts from mid-late 90s) from my Nokia, I reminisce the days I sat in a black 1991 civic sedan lowered on some chopped springs. The car belonged to my friend’s brother Jon B. Most of my middle school years, I was driven home from school in this car. It was here with my friends Zac and Ray, I was introduced to this music that has up to this day, influence my thoughts and keeps my mind thinking at tip top condition. The blurps of “DJ Premier, P-P-P Premier, Premier, DJ Premier, Premier,” has a home in my memory cortex forever.
LP’s like Soundbombing II, New York Reality Check 101, Resurrection, I Got Next, and many others, stimulated my mind to metaphorically think about life and everything I do. CD’s like that never got phased out, they are always on rotation when new shit fail to impress me. But…shit’s different.

Majority of hiphop nowadays are about whoring females, toting a chain, counting cash, and driving cars that none of the listeners will ever drive. Where it used to be about reppin’ your crew, city, and how dope you are, it is now about how much ends you got.
Anyways I’m not complaining how Hiphop should be or whatevers cause I don’t have the credits make any remarkable opinions. As fan I do feel that shit is stupid when Nas said that ‘hiphop is dead’ and people like Jim Jones goes and says, “Hiphop died and I got a the will,” boasting about his riches. The genre has gotten money hungry. Too money hungry. Hiphop is a now a vehicle to riches with everyone from Pretty Ricky to Lil Romeo coming out with clothing lines. It was cool when Puffy and Jay-Z did it cause it was innovative. No one is innovating anymore, they are following too much. ‘Clothing makes him money, it’s gonna make me money.’ “’Lean wit, Rock it’ was a money maker!, let me cash out on the ‘Shoulder Lean’, or ‘Chicken Noodle Soup,’ or fuck it, keep it simple and let just ‘Walk it out’.” Everyone needs money though, so I guess it’s smart to capitalize on what’s “hot” to kids that think they are something they are not or never will be. There’s good music out there though, don’t get me wrong. It’s not like driving in that black civic though. It’s not the same no more shit’s done changed for sure…

Nerd Mode: ON

So I just finished the first round of midterms for the semester. I’m pretty confident that I did well. I studied all day the day before and studied til 4am the day of. I woke up at 6:30am for my first exam at 7:30. I kind of knew the O-Chem material but I completed each problem with good thought. I didn’t have the problem of guessing because it was my only hope so that’s good I suppose. With a 2-hour nap after that I prepped for my Systemic Physiology exam. I took the practice exams and found that the prof had hella trick questions. Well, not really trick questions but answers that weren’t the obvious ones. I took extra care in answering the multiple choice so hopefully I didn’t screw myself over for thinking too much, cuz we all know how those multiple choice tests are. Ah well, I’m pretty confident and hopefully I’m not wrong. I will find out next week and it will determine the rest of semester. I don’t plan on playing catch-up for the rest of the semester.

Surprisingly I was not tired at all. That night I wanted to watch “A Scanner Darkly” but then was too lazy to load it up in the dvd player. I’ve rented that movie since last Friday and have yet to watch it. Thank goodness that Blockbuster put an end to Late Fees.

weekend wrap up

It's Sunday and time for the weekend wrap up. Pretty much unexpected things happened this weekend. Somethings so personal that I don't even think I should be thinking twice about it. Friday I went to San Jose to visit my Brother and some friends. We met them at the bars in downtown; when I say 'we' I mean my girlfriend and I. That night we didn't really have a place to sleep except for the couch in the living room that was pretty small but we made it work. Surprisingly it was a good night's sleep. I woke up to a friend talking and the things he was saying and the way he was acting got on my nerves. He's always like that but for some reason he was annoying me. Am I changing? I don't know, but I don't like the thought of my friends annoying me because they are my friends. We went to the San Jose State Library to have our enosix meeting. Productive it was, and I can't for this business to bloom, if it does. Regardless, it is an experience like no other. Later that night, it was chris' bday party at Club NV in SF. everything was cool but things started to fall apart. This is where all that personal stuff comes in.....I don't want to write about it let alone think about it again. I don't understand the things I put up with. I will never let that feeling come over me again. BLAH! but yea, I got to see my Brother Mo this weekend so this weekend was a great one because of that.

I think I'm going crazy for sure.

.....

Another day, another dollar – they say. As for me, it seems more like another expense, another dollar spent. I remember the days when I used to work at the bar and be “BALLIN’!” I didn’t have a care in the world when I came to financial issues. With this comfort of financial freedom, I caught myself exhausting myself at work and not focusing on my studies. I mean, I’m in Sacramento to get an education and build a career. After a year of at working at the bar, my big head deflate as I watched my GPA drop. I know myself too well to let anything like this to be happening. I know what I can and can’t do. I knew that working late nights and putting my homework aside was killing me. Sure a lot of people can multitask; going to school and working full time, but not I. Only after a lot of contemplation I realized it was time to make moves. All my friends are graduating and it’s my time too as well. I built up the courage to resign from a fun-filled and great paying job in exchange for my studies. It was the hardest thing to do. Ever since then I haven’t been “BALLIN’!” like I used to, but my grades are rising. I figure “Heh, money will come in the future.” So now here I am, working at my day job for the State writing this entry, making a measly nine dollars an hour, and studying whenever they don’t give any papers to push. One day I’ll be “BALLIN’!” again, but until then I’m going to finish school and be a good student. On the Brightside I have the support I need to live until I get out of this nine-dollar-an-hour J-oh-beezy.

Peace.

The Day I Blogged

Today marks the first day of this electronic dairy, posted for the world to read. Why this? Perhaps Myspace was too trendy or too revealing. I mean, trendy folks bother me. Walking on the campus of CSUS, trendy characters strut there stuff of being unique while every other trendy person looks just like them. Way to be unique. But I'm not one to hate and what not. Some of things they pull off are quite sweet. Despite that, they are who they are as I am who am I. In addition, Myspace is just too revealing. I don't like the idea of my 11-year old niece being able to see pictures of me partying, drinking, etc. In way it's a good reason for me to change my ways. In any case, I've decided to start this for my close friends and myself. To reflect on myself in the future and to share moments in my life to those I care most about. One key player in my life, Ray Chong Chen, convinced to start this. Being a long time friend along with Zac, I trust these guys in everything they do and advise me. Coming from Modesto and separating for our college careers, these friends are ones everyone needs to maintain a realistic view on life.

I know, this is a posting of ramble and unorganized thoughts. But I know when I read this later on, even maybe tomorrow I can reflect on my thoughts and work on my grammar =)

Random thought: Myspace is a phonebook.
